Social Cohesion Workshop

Australian National University, 5 & 6 December 2007

This was the first workshop in the Social Role of Religion project. It brought together twenty contributors to that project and some who had worked on the recent Cambridge University Press publication Social Cohesion in Australia, edited by James Jupp and John Nieuwenhuysen.

A workshop on Religion and Politics

Jointly sponsored by Macquarie University and the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia will be held in Sydney in July. A further workshop on Women and Religion is being arranged for later in 2008.

Social Cohesion in Australia is published by Cambridge University Press and supported by Monash University, the Scanlon Foundation and the Australian Multicultural Foundation. It has 16 chapters by Australian scholars and was edited by Dr James Jupp AM, Professor John Nieuwenhuysen AM and Emma Dawson. It is on sale in bookshops throughout Australia and is also published overseas.
